So you have prevailed in a case. You have just been awarded $25,000.00. The party, person, corporation or entity has no assets. Do you just walk away and forget it? No!

In most every state you record your judgment with the state and it prevents the entity from obtaining any state privilege until they satisfy in whole or in part that judgment. This means they can not buy a house, sell a vehicle, collect lottery winnings, be awarded a judgment without you being satisfied first.

In some cases if people fail to satisfy judgment you may ask the court to suspend their license if they fail to deal in good faith.

The reference work for lawyers is is in volume 47 - Judgments from American Jurisprudence.
